2017-2018: Study Zone

Study Zone continued for its second year! Elementary school students come for free homework help and tutoring from high school or adult volunteers.

May 16th, 2018: Classis of New Brunswick

For the first time in many years, we hosted the Stated Session of the Classis of New Brunswick.  We enjoyed a delicious dinner and led a worship service for our colleagues at local Reformed Churches!

May 13th, 2018: One Year Anniversary of Manna Cafe!

It was with great joy that we celebrated the one year anniversary of our Manna Cafe dinners!  We celebrated with food from Ria Mar and ice cream cake!

March 30th, 2018: Ecumenical Good Friday Tenebrae Service

We gathered together with several other churches in the South River community to remember Good Friday together in a Tenebrae service, with music from the Taize community, hosted at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church.

December 17th, 2017: Christmas Caroling

We helped to host a caroling event through the South River Council of Congregations.  Our church hosted the rehearsals for the event as well as served as the gathering place for the beginning of the event.  After gathering here, we took to the streets to sing carols at houses in the neighborhood! November 22nd, 2017: Council of Congregations Thanksgiving Eve Service

We collaborated with several other churches in the South River area for the annual South River Council of Congregations' Thanksgiving Eve service.  First Reformed was well-represented: Pastor Colleen gave the sermon for the evening!

August 30th, 2017: South River Unity Walk

In response to the division in our country, South River joined together for a unity walk throughout the town.  The event culminated in a community dinner hosted at our church, with foods shared by all different people in our town!

July-August, 2017: Movie Nights​

We joined with neighbors to enjoy movies projected in our parking lot!

July-August, 2017: Who Is My Neighbor?

For the summer of 2017 we offered a once-a-week summer program called "Who Is My Neighbor?" We learned about different countries represented in our South River Community through language, music, games, crafts and most importantly: food!  We also looked at stories in the Bible that teach us how to be good neighbors!

May, 2017: Manna Cafe Launched!

On Mother's Day, 2017, we launched our Manna Cafe feeding ministry in partnership with the Darul Arqam School, offering food and fellowship to anyone in need.
